Since a couple of weeks, the fiesta people from the northern suburbs and nearby Parisian districts have a new spot to hang out for drinks, tapas and music: Rosa Bonheur à l’Ouest. Already known in Paris and well frequented since years, the team from Rosa Bonheur brought their stylish outdoor bar with pink flamingos to Asnières-sur-Seine, a town which desperately needed some urban make-up.
The residents of Asnières immediately adopted this chill-out area down by the river. It is kids friendly with plenty of playgrounds, but adults also enjoy to play boules or just dropping by to meet with friends for a drink and a tasty stonebaked pizza.
Graffiti artists like pimax & friends transformed the white painted dock into a colourful street art gallery and the team of Rosa Bonheur à l’Ouest promises plenty of summer acts such as live music, dancing or join-in activities during the coming weekends.
Check out their website or Facebook page for regular updates.
While guests of all ages enjoy this romantic place close to the historic bridge of Asnières, the setting is not finished. Rosa Bonheur organisers are planning to install a steel wharf of 40 meters alongside the dock to gain an extra waterside terrace, coming in September. And, if everything goes fine, they will even bring a barge to complete the Mediterranean feeling, similar to their other Guinguette in Paris – do you feel the Camargue?
By the way, impressionist artists like Vincent Van Gogh and Emile Bernard already depicted the atmosphere of Asnières’ and Clichy’s industry romantic 130 years ago, when they painted numerous scenery and the Seine bridges in the neigbourhood.
